OUR STORY

Pioneering Maternal and Postpartum Healthcare in Georgia

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our commitment is unwavering: to revolutionize maternal healthcare for all. Denise, our founder and CEO, draws from personal experience as a mother of three children—two daughters and a son—born in the mid-1990s. Her journey intertwines the joys of motherhood with the stark realities of maternal mortality.

Denise's own childbirth encounters, marked by several near misses, have sensitized her to the alarming rates of maternal mortality in the United States. These experiences underscored systemic inadequacies in maternal healthcare, igniting her resolve to drive change.

In 2019, Denise embarked on a transformative path, envisioning a state-of-the-art Maternal and Postpartum Care Center. This envisioned sanctuary would seamlessly unite expecting and birthing individuals, families, doulas, midwives, OB-GYNs, and healthcare professionals.

Harnessing cutting-edge technology, this visionary facility promises proactive and comprehensive care. Its mission? To combat disproportionately high rates of maternal mortality and morbidity among birthing people of color.

Moreover, Denise remains steadfast in her commitment to address the diverse needs of all expecting individuals. Particularly, those grappling with high-risk pregnancies, hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), pre-eclampsia, and mental health challenges during pregnancy and the postpartum phase. Join us on this transformative journey, shaping the future of maternal and postpartum healthcare.
